I can’t really say why I decided to learn how to drive, it was an impulsive decision and Nigel was the first instructor I came across. Luckily, he was the best instructor I could ask for! He was calm, patient and encouraging and helped me understand the nitty gritty of driving - I never thought I would feel comfortable with the idea of driving by myself but somehow I do! As much i am excited to drive I am also sad to have completed my learner journey and will miss my weekly lessons 💔

Nigel is a fantastic tutor, tailoring lessons to your learning style. Lessons are typically longer at 2hrs, giving more time to embed learning and build confidence quicker, thus resulting in going to test quicker. Nigel teaches you to drive safely, not just to pass the test. And, as an LGBTQ tutor, it put me at ease without having to worry about 'that' conversation.

Nigel was an excellent instructor. Clear, patient and extremely knowledgeable, I ended every lesson feeling as though I had made solid progress. I was eager to pass quickly, but also to pass as a safe driver and Nigel was the perfect instructor for this. I never felt as though I was being charged for lessons I didn’t need, but I also appreciated his candour and expertise around choosing when to go to test. And he was right as I passed first time!
On a personal level, he’s a pleasure to be in a car with and always did his best to be flexible on lesson timings when my work schedule inevitably changed.

I was super nervous to start learning to drive but Nigel was very supportive and calm, going at a pace that suited me. I really appreciated that there was no pressure to take my test before I felt comfortable doing so, which is probably why I passed first time! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nigel to anyone, he's a great teacher and a lovely guy. I actually enjoy driving now which is not something I ever thought I would say!

Amazing experience with Nigel, learning with him was easy and relaxed. After 11 weeks i was ready for my test and passed first time! Punctual and professional I would highly recommend him to anybody.

I started to learn to drive again with Nigel after a break of 25 years (getting your dad to teach you is probably not the best thing to do!) I was nervous to start with. We had approximately 22 hours of lessons and I passed first time round. Nigel is an excellent driving instructor, professional, friendly and he tailored my lessons to meet my specific needs to ensure I passed. I’d strongly recommend him.

I went with Nigel at the LGBTQ Drive because I was recommended due to his patience and his ability to instil confidence in me to pass my test and this is what happened. Spent a fantastic hour with Nigel today and I've FINALLY learnt how to parallel park without trashing my alloys. Better late than never. Straighten the wheels, one full turn, shrink the triangle, two more turns, in he goes!

I’d highly recommend LGBTQ Drive for anyone but especially for those who feel intimidated by the ‘blokey’ culture of driving as I was. Nigel’s patient, accommodating and friendly approach meant I could stop worrying, be myself and focus on learning. His great teaching helped me to pass my test first time!

When choosing my driving instructor I trawled the internet to find someone who was very well qualified (only DVSA “A” graded would do), well reviewed and good value for money. Nigel is all of this things and more. What is most useful is that Nigel teaches you to be a good driver rather than just teaching you how to pass a certain test center route. I was SO nervous for my test but Nigel sat there with me, calmed me down and didn’t belittle my feelings of trepidation. Nigel is patient, kind and the utmost professional. I don’t have a bad word to say about him. Thank you for your help, Nigel.

I returned to driving again after almost 10 years and was super anxious about it, but Nigel made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. He was always really patient and the lessons were geared towards practicing the areas I wanted to practice.
It always felt like Nigel had confidence in my driving, even when I didn’t, and that ultimately got me my pass! Would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a friendly, supportive instructor who really knows how to put you at ease.
