 | Nigel's lessons and teaching practices are extremely clear, setting goals and targets at the start of each lesson and reviewing what has taken place at the end. This reflection process really helps to embed the techniques that have been looked at in the lesson. He gave me a huge amount of support from the get go, always going out of his way to accommodate the times I wanted to book in a lesson, whether that was very early morning or late into the evening. The pick up and drop off service meant that I didn't have to eat into my working day, which kept everyone happy, especially my boss! The routes Nigel took me on would always change, this was extremely helpful as it meant I was constantly challenged as a driver and prepared me very well for my test. When Nigel thought I was ready, he took me on faster roads and as a learner driver this really boosted my confidence. The driving manoeuvres can seem very complex and daunting but Nigel broke them down and explained them clearly and concisely. After one lesson on them I felt that the reference points had been ingrained in my driving. Nigel is an extremely passionate and caring instructor, he was totally invested when we were out in the car and always there offering support and advice. I really couldn't recommend him highly enough and will miss the driving time we had together. |

Nigel is a fantastic tutor, tailoring lessons to your learning style. Lessons are typically longer at 2hrs, giving more time to embed learning and build confidence quicker, thus resulting in going to test quicker. Nigel teaches you to drive safely, not just to pass the test. And, as an LGBTQ tutor, it put me at ease without having to worry about 'that' conversation.

Nigel was an excellent instructor. Clear, patient and extremely knowledgeable, I ended every lesson feeling as though I had made solid progress. I was eager to pass quickly, but also to pass as a safe driver and Nigel was the perfect instructor for this. I never felt as though I was being charged for lessons I didn’t need, but I also appreciated his candour and expertise around choosing when to go to test. And he was right as I passed first time!
On a personal level, he’s a pleasure to be in a car with and always did his best to be flexible on lesson timings when my work schedule inevitably changed.

I was super nervous to start learning to drive but Nigel was very supportive and calm, going at a pace that suited me. I really appreciated that there was no pressure to take my test before I felt comfortable doing so, which is probably why I passed first time! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nigel to anyone, he's a great teacher and a lovely guy. I actually enjoy driving now which is not something I ever thought I would say!

I started to learn to drive again with Nigel after a break of 25 years (getting your dad to teach you is probably not the best thing to do!) I was nervous to start with. We had approximately 22 hours of lessons and I passed first time round. Nigel is an excellent driving instructor, professional, friendly and he tailored my lessons to meet my specific needs to ensure I passed. I’d strongly recommend him.

I went with Nigel at the LGBTQ Drive because I was recommended due to his patience and his ability to instil confidence in me to pass my test and this is what happened. He is patient and thorough in explaining how things are to drive to pass my test. I am happy and feel I chose well with each lesson I felt I was getting closer to test. Nigel is the best kind of instructor: knowledgeable, calm, patient and encouraging. Not only did he help me pass the test but his focus on good driving habits will stay with me for the long term. Can’t recommend him highly

Spent a fantastic hour with Nigel today and I've FINALLY learnt how to parallel park without trashing my alloys. Better late than never. Straighten the wheels, one full turn, shrink the triangle, two more turns, in he goes!

I’d highly recommend LGBTQ Drive for anyone but especially for those who feel intimidated by the ‘blokey’ culture of driving as I was. Nigel’s patient, accommodating and friendly approach meant I could stop worrying, be myself and focus on learning. His great teaching helped me to pass my test first time!

When choosing my driving instructor I trawled the internet to find someone who was very well qualified (only DVSA “A” graded would do), well reviewed and good value for money. Nigel is all of this things and more. What is most useful is that Nigel teaches you to be a good driver rather than just teaching you how to pass a certain test center route. I was SO nervous for my test but Nigel sat there with me, calmed me down and didn’t belittle my feelings of trepidation. Nigel is patient, kind and the utmost professional. I don’t have a bad word to say about him. Thank you for your help, Nigel.
