30 years ago when I was 17, if you’ve have told that when I was nearly 47 that I would pass my Driving test for the first time let alone get to the test, I would have said you have got to be joking. Every time I tried to learn drive, my confidence was knocked by an instructor or me feeling I can't-do it so I gave up. Well that all changed in March 2017 when on holiday in Gran Canaria me and my partner Steve met Nigel at the B&B we were staying in who happened to be a driving instructor. He told me to get in touch when we returned to the UK which I did. I was apprehensive at first about doing lessons again but Nigel put me at ease, built up my confidence again, generally encouraging me. He was patient, calm, while all the time never making me feeling incompetent. I had a few lessons where I had a wobble, where I beat myself up as wasn’t doing it correctly but Nigel calmed me down, talked me through it and we worked at it. I got there in the end. For anyone considering learning to drive, get in touch with Nigel, he is “simply the best” I couldn’t ask for better. |
